table like top. The sensational flat topped mountain is at the heart of Cape

There are many different hiking trails up Table Mountain, both easy and difficult. The most

popular hiking trail to summit Table Mountain includes the spacious India

Venster hiking trail and the majestic Platteklip Gorge hike. There is even a Table

Mountain Aerial Cableway at the base and at the top of Table Mountain National

Park. Table Mountain Aerial Cableway tickets can be purchased directly from the lower

or upper Cableway station. Tickets for the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway are included in the

Table Mountain hike with the guided hiking tour. Take an

Most days the Table Mountain hiking is cool, but in summer the weather on Table Mountain can be extremely hot. Proper hydration is mandatory to hike Table Mountain. We

recommend wearing closed shoes and suitable clothing in layers,

bringing enough water and wearing sun protection to acclimatize yourself

to the weather on the Table Mountain hike. Table mountain national park has some cloudy

weather. On the occasional cloudy days, the cloud covering on Table

Mountain is called the “Table cloth”. The best time to hike Table Mountain is

early morning and later afternoon. If you have developed a hearty

appetite on the hike up, the Table Mountain Restaurant stands ready to

take your food and drinks order.

Platteklip Gorge up Table Mountain is our

preferred hiking trail for tackling the flat topped mountain. The route is well established

and the view after a hike up Table Mountain offers a good vantage point towards

Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope. The Platteklip Gorge hiking trail up

Table Mountain fills up quickly. It is best to book our guided Table Mountain hike in advance.

If you are feeling more adventurous then an India Venster hike is another excellent alternative hike up Table Mountain. India Venster is more technical and requires some hard scrambling to get over the rocky parts of Table Mountain. Read on!
